So Lelit and I trip over musicals in the office, no kids, not the “High School Musical”. We shoved the music into the ears of those who preferred not to listen, the choice was not theirs, we were in a single office, and they were without headsets. It started with Les Miserable, followed by The King and I, then ended with the Phantom of the Opera.
Childhood flashbacks.
I have an aunt, who used to stay in the house with us. She played the regular role of spoiling the nieces, since she had no kids of her own. She was very fond of musicals, thus, after watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, or whatever cartoons we had then, we would watch those musicals.
As a peculiar child, I had a peculiar crush, on the peculiar Eric, the half-masked phantom. I remember it reaching the point of having a dream, of being on the stage of an empty theater, curtains up, with the phantom circling around me, and in the background, was an instrumental of All I Ask of You. Even back then, I had no fantasies of knights in shining armor, ergo, I had never expected him to be dream material, he was just silent, scary, and phantom-like basically. (There was no singing involved on my part, or it would have become a nightmare.)
I guess, my fantasies lie on the borderline of dreams and nightmares.
